Domestic, Commercial & Industrial Electrical Installation

Professional Electrical Solutions, Done Right.

Design

Electrical design begins with accurate load calculations and appropriate selection of consumer units, protective devices and cable sizes in accordance with BS 7671 and relevant building regulations (including Part P where applicable); correct earthing, bonding and the use of residual current devices (RCDs) are essential to ensure safety and compliance.  while specifying suitable switches, lighting controls and emergency lighting to meet functional and emergency requirements. Energy efficiency and the integration of renewables or battery storage should be considered to future‑proof installations, and clear schematics, schedules and written specifications assist communication between electricians, clients, architects and building control. Finally, thorough inspection, testing and certification complete the design process and verify that the installation operates safely and as intended.

Distribution

Ensuring safe, compliant electrical distribution means installing consumer units and distribution boards with correctly rated conductors, protective devices and earthing arrangements in accordance with BS 7671 and relevant Building Regulations (including Part P where applicable). Circuits must be clearly labelled and segregated, load-balanced and protected by appropriately selected MCBs, RCDs and surge protection devices, with consideration given to fault levels, derating and device coordination. Work should follow robust risk assessment and safe-isolation procedures, be carried out by a competent, registered installer, and be validated by inspection, testing and the appropriate certification (EICR or completion certificates), with accurate documentation retained for maintenance and compliance audits.

Containment

Effective electrical containment is vital for safety: cables should be routed in suitable trunking, conduit or cable trays with correct segregation between power, control and data circuits, appropriate IP-rated enclosures, and provision for bonding and earthing; containment must not be overfilled, must allow access for inspection and maintenance, and where it penetrates fire-separating structures it must be correctly fire-stopped to maintain compartmentation. Always label containment and circuits clearly, follow BS 7671 and relevant building regulations, and isolate and test circuits before working to reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or equipment damage.

Testing - EICR - PAT

Ensuring electrical safety is essential, regular electrical testing by a qualified electrician—typically an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) carried out at least every five years—helps demonstrate compliance with UK rental / landlords safety standards. The electrician should identify any C1/C2 & C3 or other remedial recommendations and landlords must ensure dangerous defects are corrected promptly, keeping copies of test reports and evidence of any remedial work. Providing tenants (and, where required, the local authority) with copies of reports, checking any supplied appliances (PAT testing where appropriate) and retaining records are all part of good practice to reduce risk and meet statutory obligations.
